Mikel Arteta has praised Gabriel Jesus for bringing “belief” and “energy” to Arsenal as the forward shone in victory at Sevilla esports
Jesus continued his love affair with the Champions League with a fine goal and assist double as the Gunners won 2-1 at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium esports
A piece of magic set up compatriot Gabriel Martinelli to open the scoring on the stroke of half-time before Jesus doubled the lead with a fine, curling finish of his own – although he later limped off having moments earlier held his hamstring esports
The Brazil forward may not boast the most prolific strike record but he has now scored an impressive 23 goals in 41 appearances in Europe’s elite club competition esports
Asked if Jesus had been signed from Manchester City because of his prowess in the competition, Arteta replied: “For sure esports
He has been through a lot in the last few years and he’s still really young esports
“He has enormous experiences – some of them not the nicest but very necessary to be the player that he is today esports
I’m really happy to have him in the team esports
“He came here for a reason esports
I think he changed our world esports
He brought so much belief and energy to that team, he needs to step in in those moments esports
He’s done that esports
That’s when a player becomes accountable for the team esports
“Big games are for big players esports
He needed to produce those moments to win in a stadium like this esports
He’s done it for us in a really big way esports
Then, really sad because he felt something in his hamstring and I’m worried about that esports
“We need those players to win games esports
If you want to play Manchester City, then go to Stamford Bridge, then come here – that’s the level we’re at right now esports
To come here and win, big credit to the boys esports
”Jesus’ night ended as he hobbled off to be replaced by Eddie Nketiah in the latter stages – with Arteta admitting he is concerned for the striker esports
“(I am) really sad because he felt something in his hamstring and I’m worried about that,” he added esports
“He straight away asked to be subbed which is not good news because Gabriel is not a player who does that at all esports
We will have to wait and see in the next few days esports
”The victory saw Arsenal recover from defeat in Lens last time out and was enough to take them to the top of Group B at the halfway stage esports
Arteta’s side will be in a good position to reach the knockout stages if they beat Sevilla in the return game at the Emirates Stadium in a fortnight and the Spaniard was pleased with the reaction to defeat in France esports
“That result against Lens put us in a difficult position and the team had to react,” he said esports
“We are coming from the back of very difficult games where the team has to step in and go against adversity as well with some of the injuries that we picked up to big players esports
“The team is so willing to at least try their best even if we don’t manage to be our best all the time esports

Anthony Joshua has admitted to watching Tyson Fury’s Netflix series, in part to gain an insight into his fellow Briton as a potential opponent esports
At Home With The Fury’s, which was released this summer, follows the WBC heavyweight champion and his family in Morecambe, and focuses on the 35-year-old’s failed retirement from esports boxing in 2022 esports
Fury would ultimately return to the ring in December, beating Derek Chisora for the third time, and he is now due to box former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia on 28 October esports
The “Gypsy King” is then set to face Oleksandr Usyk at an as-yet-unknown date, also in Saudi, to crown an undisputed heavyweight champion esports
“I am on episode six, I’m enjoying it,” Joshua said of At Home With The Fury’s, while speaking to Men’s Health this week esports
“I like it esports
I like his kids, they’re so funny esports
His wife is loyal, so supportive esports
“I am partly watching it because it gives me an insight that maybe I can use if we do fight esports
[I’ve seen] how you can change his mood esports
They say I am mentally weak; he definitely has mental issues esports

“It’s like going to war,” the former two-time unified champion said esports
Joshua dismissed the suggestion that Fury had made a mistake in filming the series, however, saying: “No, in the heat of a fight, you’re not going to be thinking, ‘Ah, that bit in episode seven of the Netflix series…’ but it does give the psychologists a chance to understand him more esports
“We separate the elements of a fight esports
You have the fight strategy, then you have psychological warfare, and then you have things like, ‘Shall I wear red?’ to signal danger – all these different things esports
So, something like the TV thing won’t help me in the fight, but it might help in the lead-up esports
”Joshua, who added that he would be open to doing his own series in the same style, also addressed a scene in At Home With The Fury’s in which a esports boxing fan approaches Tyson and says that he would lose to “AJ” esports

“I thought Fury handled it really well esports
”Fury has said more than once that he wanted to halt the filming of the series at the time esports
Joshua last fought in August, stopping Robert Helenius, who stepped in for Dillian Whyte esports
Whyte, whom Joshua knocked out in 2015, was pulled from their rematch after failing a drug test, while it was revealed after the new match-up that Helenius had also tested positive for a banned substance before the bout esports
